Our History
Allover Central Polytechnic came into being during a period when the Federal Government of Nigeria was working to liberalize education and encourage broader participation in the provision of tertiary education. Particular attention was being given to technological education because of its value as a foundation for economic advancement and social transformation.
The Polytechnic was established within the framework created by Decree 9 of 1993, which provided for the establishment of private tertiary educational institutions in Nigeria. This development created an opportunity for institutions such as Allover Central Polytechnic to expand access to career-focused learning and help students prepare for the demands of professional life.
Our Mission
The mission of Allover Central Polytechnic is to provide sound, qualitative and professionally oriented tertiary education to every student admitted by the institution. Its educational approach is intended to develop relevant knowledge, practical competence and the professional outlook needed for further growth and productive participation in society.
The Polytechnic recognizes that effective tertiary education must connect academic study with applicable skills. Students are therefore expected to engage seriously with the theoretical and practical aspects of their programmes while developing the discipline required in professional environments.
- Provide qualitative tertiary education
- Promote professionally relevant knowledge and skills
- Support practical learning alongside academic instruction
- Prepare students for professional development
Academic Policy
The academic policy of the Polytechnic places importance on maintaining a consistent academic calendar. A dependable schedule supports orderly teaching, learning and assessment while helping students progress through their programmes without avoidable disruption.
This consistency also supports the institution's objective of helping students attain a high level of professional training and expertise. Academic activities are organized to encourage sustained participation, timely completion of coursework and meaningful engagement with each area of study.
Teaching and Practical Learning
Allover Central Polytechnic emphasizes lectures, tutorials and practical classes as key parts of its educational delivery. Lectures introduce and develop essential subject knowledge, while tutorials provide opportunities for closer examination of concepts and guided academic engagement. Practical classes help students apply what they have learned in settings connected to their fields of study.
These activities are delivered by committed and motivated lecturers who contribute to the academic and professional development of students. By combining structured instruction with practical experience, the Polytechnic seeks to build competence, strengthen understanding and support the development of expertise relevant to technological and professional education.
